The Malo Bridge is a type of full-arch dental prosthesis supported by dental implants. It is also known as the "All-on-4" or "All-on-6" concept, popularized by Dr. Paulo Malo. This treatment involves the placement of four or six dental implants in the jawbone to support a complete fixed bridge of teeth.
The Malo Bridge procedure typically follows these steps:
Consultation and Planning: A comprehensive examination and imaging (such as CT scans) are done to assess the patient's oral health and bone structure. A treatment plan is then created based on the individual's needs.
Implant Placement: Dental implants are surgically placed in the jawbone. In the All-on-4 approach, four implants are strategically positioned in areas of the jaw with optimal bone density to maximize support for the bridge. With the All-on-6 concept, six implants are used for added stability.
Healing Period: A healing period is allowed for the implants to integrate with the bone (osseointegration), providing a strong foundation for the bridge.
Bridge Fabrication: Once the implants have integrated, a custom-made bridge is fabricated to fit securely onto the implants. This bridge replaces a full arch of missing teeth and is designed to look and function like natural teeth.
Bridge Placement: The final Malo Bridge is attached to the implants, restoring the patient's smile, function, and confidence.
